Sintact Medical Systems, Inc. CEO, Erik Robinson, founded a company that develops non-resorbable films that separate adjacent organs from attaching to each other after surgery. The film acts as a polymeric tissue substitute that separates organ and tissue surfaces to significantly reduce the likelihood of scarring and post-operative complications.
Robinson will also discuss his efforts to gain FDA approval and his approach to receiving funds for himself (and other ventures) via the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, a highly competitive program that encourages domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) that has the potential for commercialization.
