After winning the primary and general elections in 2014, Jay became one of the youngest county clerks ever elected in Indiana. Since becoming the Clerk, Jay has switched to the more efficient vote centers, moved the Clerk's Office to a cloud-based case management system, transitioned the Clerk's Office to e-filing, and drastically reduced the amount of paperwork that was being used in the office. Jay was elected to his second and final term as Clerk in November.

On behalf of the county's citizens, Jay has invested in new equipment, ensured that the process is secure from threats and has witnessed a couple of years of record turnout.
