Taking Care of Business
Taking Care of Business is a hands-on workshop series designed for business owners who have been operating 1–5 years and are ready to strengthen their foundation and grow with confidence.
These half-day, in-person workshops are built for action, not lectures. Each session gives participants real tools, guided work time, and practical takeaways they can immediately implement into their businesses. The series is intentionally progressive, with every workshop building on the one before it so attendees gain clarity, structure, and momentum throughout the year.
Space is limited to 20 participants to keep the experience interactive, focused, and personalized.
Business 101
Session 1 is all about building a strong, confident foundation for your business. In this workshop, you’ll step back from the day-to-day hustle and focus on the core elements that keep a business stable, legal, and financially healthy.
Participants will work hands-on to create or refine their business plan using a practical Lean Canvas model, learn how to become “bankable,” and better understand the financial side of running a business. Local experts will guide you through essential topics like licensing, permits, insurance, taxes, and basic financial management—areas that are often confusing or overlooked by growing businesses.
This isn’t theory. You’ll leave with completed worksheets, checklists, and clear next steps tailored to your own business.
What you’ll walk away with:
- A working Lean Canvas business plan
- A clearer understanding of required licenses and insurance
- A starter P&L worksheet
- A checklist of financial and legal action items
- Direct connections to local business resources
