Community Baby Shower Celebrates and Supports Local Families

Columbus, Indiana – April 1, 2026
The Bartholomew County Health Department invites families, friends, and neighbors to attend a joyful and supportive Community Baby Shower, dedicated to celebrating expectant parents and families with young children while connecting them to valuable local resources.

The Community Baby Shower will take place on April 11, 2026 from 9am–11am at the Bartholomew County Health Department Nursing Division – 2625 Foxpointe Drive, Columbus, IN 47203. This free event is open to all families in the community who are expecting a baby or have infants up to 10 months old.

Attendees can drop in anytime between 9am–11am and enjoy a morning filled with activities, including:

  • Free baby goody bag with essentials such as diapers, wipes, and more (while supplies last)
  • Educational resources on prenatal care, safe sleep, and infant wellness
  • Raffles and giveaways
  • Light refreshments
  • Opportunities to connect with local organizations and healthcare providers

“Our goal is to create a welcoming space where families feel supported, celebrated, and connected,” said Amanda Organist, Director of Nursing Division. “Raising a child truly takes a community, and this event brings that spirit to life.”

Representatives from the Bartholomew County Health Department and local partner organizations will be on hand to provide information on parenting support services, healthcare options, and early childhood programs.
