Crew Carwash Raises more than $200,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters
?Carwash to donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters throughout the state for fundraising event
INDIANAPOLIS (August 5, 2024) – Crew Carwash, an Indiana-based family business, recently partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters for its fifteenth annual Crew for Kids fundraiser.
As part of its Crew for Kids fundraiser, Crew committed to donating 50 percent of the proceeds from all Ultimate Washes sold to Big Brothers Big Sisters, along with all cash and credit donations. The event took place Saturday, July 27, at all 48 Crew Carwash locations throughout Indiana and Minnesota.
With the help of the community, Crew for Kids raised $201,786 in total for Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across Indiana and Minnesota. In total, the company has raised more than $1,200,000 for the nonprofit since its inaugural Crew for Kids fundraiser in 2010.
With the funds raised, Big Brothers Big Sisters will be able to create and support more than 90 new matches this year in the communities they serve. Since 2010, several hundred “Littles” have benefited from a mentor because of the Crew for Kids event.
“We are grateful for the sunny skies and generous customers who came to Crew Carwash in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters last weekend,” said Darcey Palmer-Shultz, CEO of BBBS of Central Indiana. “It’s so meaningful to us to have a partner equally committed to developing potential in our community, and we are so appreciative of every member of the Crew Carwash team for their effort and support. The funds raised from this event will directly support our work to connect more young people with mentors, expand our mentoring programs and collaborations to reach more youth, and provide impactful youth development and college and career readiness programming.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that matches kids with caring adult mentors to help support them and empower them to reach their full potential. Big Brothers Big Sisters will use this money to create one-to-one mentoring relationships between “Bigs” and “Littles” in the community.
Funds raised benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies that serve markets in which Crew has locations. The agencies to receive the proceeds from this fundraiser include: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lafayette, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wabash Valley, Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities, Big Brothers Big Sisters Central Minnesota, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bartholomew County.
“We are thrilled to support their mission to create positive relationships through one-on-one mentoring” said Sally Grant, Executive Vice President of Crew Carwash. “We’ve witnessed first-hand the significant impact Big Brothers Big Sisters has on the youth in our community.”
