Jackpots for Generations Raises $30,000 for Community Impact
Mill Race Center and Advocates for Children Announce Inaugural Event Will Become an Annual Tradition
COLUMBUS, IN — Mill Race Center and Advocates for Children are pleased to announce that the inaugural Jackpots for Generations fundraiser raised more than $30,000 through the support of sponsors, donors, volunteers, and approximately 120 attendees.
The event was created as a partnership between the two nonprofit organizations, bringing generations together for an evening of entertainment, community connection, and philanthropy. Funds raised will support the missions of both organizations, helping Mill Race Center continue to empower older adults to remain healthy and active and continue to play a vital role in economic development and community life while Advocates for Children provides advocacy for abused and neglected children across Bartholomew, Decatur, and Jennings counties.
"We are grateful to everyone who attended, sponsored, volunteered, and supported this event," said Therese Miller, Executive Director of Advocates for Children. "Raising $30,000 in our first year is an exciting accomplishment, and we look forward to building on this success in the years ahead."
"This event did more than raise funds for two great organizations, it helped shine a light on the important work both organizations do every day," said Josh Shelley, Board Member of Mill Race Center. "One of our goals was to introduce new people to both missions and demonstrate what can happen when organizations collaborate instead of compete.”
Due to the strong community response, Mill Race Center and Advocates for Children plan to make Jackpots for Generations an annual event.
The organizations extend their sincere appreciation to the event sponsors:
Coca-Cola, Horizon, Centra, Thomasson, Guthrie, Schuh-Ogle, & Happel, P.C., Skeleton Crew Tattoo, Force Construction, Duke Energy, NTN, Sanders Hammon Real Estate Team, Taylor Bros., Findley Law, Koors Heating & Cooling, White River Broadcasting, QMix, and Toyota.
Both organizations also thank the many volunteers, donors, and attendees who helped make the event a success.
Together, Mill Race Center and Advocates for Children remain committed to strengthening the community and serving individuals across generations.
