BARTHOLOMEW CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL FOUNDATION NAMES COURTNEY RUSHTON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Former BCSC educator and nonprofit leader begins new role serving students, teachers, and the community COLUMBUS, Indiana - July 20, 2026 - The Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation (BCSF) has announced that Courtney Rushton has been named Executive Director of the organization, effective July 6, 2026.

BCSF's mission is to support the work of Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) by providing financial resources and promoting awareness and philanthropy for programs that help students achieve educational excellence.

“Courtney stood out because she understands BCSC from the classroom forward and has a proven record of building programs, partnerships, and community support. Her experience as an educator, nonprofit leader, and parent gives her a rare perspective on the opportunities before the Foundation. Rushton brings a unique combination of experience as a former BCSC educator and a nonprofit leader to the role. She most recently served as Director of Entrepreneurship at the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, where she led Catalyst - the entrepreneurial arm of the Columbus Area Chamber Foundation - including programs such as Catalyst 100, Catalyst Academy, and TIME. She previously served as the Maverick Challenge Project Coordinator at the Chamber, managing a business pitch competition that engaged more than 300 high school students across the region annually.

Rushton's career began in the classroom at BCSC, where she taught first grade at Southside Elementary and kindergarten at Mt. Healthy Elementary. She also served as a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Facilitator at Mt. Healthy Elementary and L. Frances Smith Elementary.

“In many ways, this move feels like a homecoming. I’m incredibly honored that the BCSF Board has given me this opportunity to support BCSC teachers and students. It’s a full-circle moment to give back to the BCSC community that has given so much to me and my family - both the people I know and the many new faces I look forward to meeting,” said Rushton.

In her first months, Rushton will focus on listening to educators, students, donors, and community partners; strengthening relationships with current and prospective supporters; increasing awareness of the Foundation’s impact; and advancing grants, scholarships, and other investments that respond to the needs of BCSC classrooms and students.

Rushton and her husband, Bryan, have called Columbus home since 2013, where they are raising three young children - two current BCSC students and one future BCSC student. The family is proud to be active members of the Columbus community.
