Open Board Meeting with Special Guest John Pepper
John Pepper, former CEO and President of Procter & Gamble and former Chairman of The Walt Disney Company, understands that companies like yours face a daily challenge to find skilled workers. While efforts to improve the workforce pipeline are showing signs of success here in Bartholomew County, it is becoming more evident that educational investments in our youngest, at-risk children have the greatest social impact and achieve the highest return on investment.
In this community, many children don't begin their formal education before kindergarten when they're about 5 years old. However, early learning advocates said the first five years of a child's life are crucial to not only learning to read but also in developing social and critical thinking skills.
On November 4, Bartholomew County voters will be asked to vote on a referendum to support all day, public pre-kindergarten scholarships for our most disadvantaged children, those who receive free and reduced lunch assistance.
Please join us to learn why John Pepper thinks this is critical to our community's - and our nation's - success.
