PART-TIME COORDINATOR ROLE
The Targeted Investment in Minority Entrepreneurs (TIME) Program is actively seeking a highly qualified candidate for a contract position of up to 30 hours per week. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading and managing a community program that focuses on empowering Black and Latino business owners in this market by providing them with access to capital, mentoring, training, and professional services. Currently, more than 100 small  businesses are engaged in the program.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about managing and marketing the TIME Program, nurturing, and promoting our participants, and diligently tracking key metrics related to the program's success. As a contractor, you will have a designated desk, a computer, and access to additional resources at the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce. The coordinator will report directly to the TIME board of directors.

The Role:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and a trusted advisor for TIME Program participants and other stakeholders, establishing strong relationships and fostering trust.
  • Guide and support new participants throughout the program, ensuring a constant flow of eligible businesses into the pipeline.
  • Follow up with program participants to ensure their successful enrollment in partner services, trainings, and other relevant opportunities.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with program participants to monitor their progress and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Manage all program-related documents, processes, and communication plans to ensure the smooth operation and success of the TIME Program.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training sessions conducted by external experts for the benefit of TIME participants.
  • Maintain regular monthly meetings with key program support contacts, such as SCORE, to evaluate participants' progress and collaborate to ensure their success.
  • Collect, manage, and summarize all necessary documents required for funding and reporting processes.
  • Prepare a comprehensive monthly report outlining key success metrics for the TIME Program.
  • Attend monthly board meetings and be prepared to deliver a report on the most recent program metrics.

The Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in various computer skills, including database management, Excel spreadsheet creation, survey execution and metric tracking, website updating, email software utilization, and social media marketing post creation.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with all program stakeholders, paying meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to meeting deadlines, excellent organizational abilities, effective communication skills across diverse audiences, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Familiarity with the mission and programs of Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, NAACP and Su Casa as well as a deep commitment to leveling the playing field for Black and Latino business owners.
  • Knowledge of small business and entrepreneurship will be considered a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Additional Job Requirements:
  • Most of the work can be completed during regular work hours. However, occasional events or calls may need to be scheduled before 8 am or after 5 pm.
  • Must sign an annual conflict-of-interest disclosure and provide updates throughout the year if necessary. It is also crucial to disclose potential conflicts before meetings and address actual conflicts during meetings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all internal matters and relevant committee affairs of the organization.

Compensation:
This is an hourly contracted position that does not include benefits.
