Job Summary

This role is to support the Radio-TV Services digital team in building, maintaining and enhancing web and digital assets under the direction of the Web/Digital Manager. This role gives the student hands-on development and content-management experience in a higher-ed/public-media environment and helps our department scale more efficiently.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Assists with website management: updating pages, uploading media, ensuring links/functionality, working with CMS.
  • Supports front-end web development and design tweaks (with supervision): e.g., layout/formatting changes, image optimization, minor scripting as needed.
  • Works with the digital analytics lead to monitor site performance metrics (load times, bounce, conversions) and report findings.
  • Collaborates with the digital content team to integrate content into the site, troubleshoot display issues, ensure cross-device responsiveness.
  • Participates in weekly check-in with Web/Digital Manager to review tasks, set priorities and brainstorm improvements.
  • Documents processes and update digital team workflow materials (i.e., how-to guides, checklists) so other students and team members can ramp quickly.

EDUCATION
Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University (preferably majoring in digital media, web design, CS minor, or journalism/communications with strong digital interest)
SKILLS
Preferred
  • Basic experience with web content management systems or willingness to learn quickly
  • Experience with HTML/CSS, front-end frameworks, and interest in web performance/UX best practices
  • Experience with the IU branding guidelines is a plus
  • Good attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills: ability to document processes and explain changes clearly

Additional Information

Expected start in January at the beginning of the IU Spring semester, with exact start date determined based on applicant availability.
Most students work around their class schedules, but year-round availability (including summer) is welcome.

Advertised Salary

$14.00 per hour 

Work Hours

10-15 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
Part-time employees at Indiana University may not work over 29 hours per week across all University-held positions.
