Job Summary
This role is to support the production of promotional content (audio, video, and digital) for the WFIU/WTIU stations and the broader Indiana Public Media brand. This role gives the student hands-on production experience in broadcast promo work and supports the video/production lead.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Helps in the development and production of radio and TV promos: script assistance, asset gathering, editing support, motion graphics/titles as needed.
- Collaborates with design and production teams (Russell McGee) to create graphics, audio beds, motion assets, and ensure brand-consistency across audio/visual bumpers.
- Assists in scheduling the airing/distribution of promos across platforms (broadcast, web, social) and tracking usage.
- Monitors promo performance when applicable (audience engagement, online views, link clicks) and assist in reporting.
- Participates in weekly production team meetings to review upcoming promos, deadlines, and brainstorm creative approaches.

EDUCATION
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University (preferably majoring in journalism, media production, film studies, communications, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
- Experience or strong interest in video/audio production and editing software (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition)
SKILLS
Preferred
- Strong visual sense, creative mindset, attention to detail; ability to follow brand guidelines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under deadlines
- Flexibility around event/promo schedules; willingness to learn and adapt
Additional Information
Expected start in January at the beginning of the IU Spring semester, with exact start date determined based on applicant availability.
Most students work around their class schedules, but year-round availability (including summer) is welcome.

Advertised Salary
$14.00 per hour
Work Hours
Approximately 8-12 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
Part-time employees at Indiana University may not work over 29 hours per week across all University-held positions.
